Pepsi

Up here in Hiranagar, in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, things move at their own pace. We are located at Ward Number 5. It is a local operation for Pepsi, and we spend most of our time making sure the crates are loaded and the trucks are ready to go out. It gets quite cold here in the winters, and sometimes the roads are not the best, but we have lived here all our lives, so we know how to handle it. This is not some high-tech distribution hub like you might see on television. It is a dusty yard with some storage sheds and a small office where we keep the books. I have been working here for years now. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes around, and there is always a bit of noise from the engines. We do not have fancy titles or uniforms that stay clean for long. We just make sure the local shops get what they need so they can sell to the people in the village. It is hard work, especially when it is raining or when the heat picks up in the summer months. But it is honest work. We know the shopkeepers by name, and they know us. We do not talk much about strategy or growth. We just talk about the next delivery and making sure we get home in time for dinner with our families.
