Kstar Exports

You can find us over at 102/Aasarvawala Compound in the Katargam area of Surat. We are right opposite Bambawadi and near the Kisna Circle. It’s a busy part of town, especially with all the diamond and textile stuff going on around here. The address on some of our papers looks like 102/AASARVAWALA COMPOUNDOPPBAMBAWADI NR. KISNA CIRCLEKATARGAMSURAT, but it is simpler to just look for the circle. Kstar Exports is basically just a few rooms where we handle all our orders. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking the quality of the goods coming in. Surat is a fast place, and if you aren't paying attention, you can get left behind. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just show up, see what needs to be shipped, and get to work. The compound can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, and the noise from the nearby workshops is constant. We’ve gotten used to it though. Most of the people working here are from the neighborhood. We know each other's families and often share lunch. It’s a simple way to run a business. We focus on getting the packaging right so nothing gets damaged on the way to the port. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and double-checking lists. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we fix them and move on. We are just a small part of the big machine here in Surat.
