Uttam Handloom Factory

Uttam Handloom Factory is found inside Manish Market, right near the Nadrai Gate. It’s a very busy area, always filled with people moving goods and carts rattling over the pavement. We aren't in a quiet spot at all. The noise from the market is constant from early morning until we close up late in the evening. Our space isn't huge, but we make the most of it. We have our machines and the materials all piled up in the back. Usually, the air smells a bit like dust and fabric. It’s just the way it is in a place like this. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor or making the place look polished for visitors. Most people who come here are looking for specific things and they know we are just a working factory. We keep a few stools for when we need to take a break or if someone wants to sit and talk for a minute. Nadrai Gate is a landmark everyone knows, so it makes it easier for people to find us in the middle of all the other stalls and shops. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go in Manish Market, but we just keep doing our thing at Uttam Handloom Factory. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’re used to the rhythm of the market now. We often eat our lunch sitting on the rolls of fabric because there isn't much room for a table.
