We’ve been here near Kailas Theatre for a long time now. Most people around Kanjangad know where this is because of the cinema right next door. It’s a busy street, especially in the late afternoons when a movie is letting out or a new one is starting. Our building is pretty straightforward and has been through many rainy seasons. We deal with patients coming in and out every day. Some stay for a bit for observation, others just visit for a quick check. The staff usually grabs their tea and snacks from the little shops on the corner. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but it works for what the local people need. We see families from all over the neighborhood. Sometimes the traffic gets a bit much near the theater, and the honking can be heard inside, but we’ve all gotten used to it. Inside, it’s mostly just the usual hospital smells and people waiting on the benches. We try to keep things moving as best as we can. There isn’t much to say about the decor because it’s a nursing home, not a hotel. It finally gets quiet late at night, which is good for the folks staying over. We know the shopkeepers on the street by their first names. It’s just how it is living and working in this part of town. If you walk past the theater, you can't miss us. We’ve seen Kanjangad change a lot over the years, but we’re still right here in the same spot.
