K. A. Boards & Flush Doors is located in Kadambar, which is over in Manjeshwar. It’s a place that feels very local, and we’ve been part of the landscape here for a good while. We deal with boards and doors, so there is always the smell of wood in the air and a bit of sawdust on the floor. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear your best clothes, but it’s where the real work happens. The building is more of a workshop than an office. We have big open spaces to move the materials around, and the roof is high enough to keep the heat from being too stifling. Manjeshwar is a quiet enough spot most of the time, though we stay busy with the orders that come through. We don't really have a sales pitch or a fancy brochure to show people. Usually, someone just comes by because they heard we were here or they saw the sign on their way through Kadambar. The name is simple because that’s what we do. We don’t feel the need to make it sound more complicated than it is. Some days are long, especially when we have a lot to move, but that’s just part of the job. We like the smell of the wood and the fact that we can see what we’ve done at the end of every day.
