S.K.T. Garments

S.K.T. Garments is situated at 3/A Senguntha Puram on the 8th Cross in Karur. This is a garment town through and through. If you walk down our street, you can hear the rhythmic sound of sewing machines coming from almost every building. Our space is filled with the smell of new fabric and the sound of scissors cutting through cloth. We have stacks of shirts and other clothes piled up on big tables. It’s not a polished retail store. It’s a place where work actually happens. The 8th Cross is a bit quieter than the main roads, but it still gets busy during the shipping hours. We have a few people working here who have been with us for years. We all know each other's families. The walls are covered in charts and some old pictures. We don't have a lot of space for extra stuff, so every corner is used for storing fabric or finished goods. The fans overhead spin fast to keep us cool, but it’s still a warm place to work. We usually have our lunch together in the back area. It’s simple food brought from home. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy descriptions. We just make the garments and send them out to whoever needs them. It’s an honest living and we have been doing it right here in Karur for a long time now. The work is steady and we just keep at it day after day.
