If you head down Dindugal Main Road towards Kaliyapanoor, you’ll find us at No. 114/2 in the Thanthonimalai area. Sabari Priya Iron Fabricators is basically a big workshop filled with the sound of metal hitting metal and the bright light from the welding torches. It’s hot work, especially in the middle of the afternoon when the sun hits the roof. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time now. The floor is always covered in iron shavings and offcuts, no matter how much we sweep up at the end of the shift. We make all sorts of things, from gates to window grills, mostly for the houses and shops going up around Kaliyapanoor. It’s heavy work and our hands are usually stained with grease or rust by lunchtime. We don't have a fancy office; most of the business happens right there on the shop floor where the noise is. People stop by with sketches on scraps of paper, asking if we can build this or fix that. We take a look, give them a price, and get to it. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we like the pace of it. Being right on the main road means we get a lot of dust from the trucks passing by, but it also makes it easy for people to drop off materials or check on their orders without a hassle.
