Premkumar S

Premkumar S is the name on the gate here at the 7 Star Dyeing Compound. We are located on Abt Road in South Karuvampalayam, Tirupur -4. It’s an industrial sort of area. There is always a lot of activity around the compound. We’ve been working from this spot for a good while now. It’s not a place for fancy suits. We usually have stains on our clothes by the end of the shift. That’s just the nature of the work we do. The machines make a lot of noise and it can get pretty warm inside during the afternoons. We don't have a big marketing department. We just do the work that comes in. Tirupur is a busy city for this kind of thing, and we are just one small part of it. We know the other folks working along Abt Road. We share a tea sometimes during a break. Our space is filled with tubs and pipes and piles of material. It’s not pretty but it works for us. We don't really have a mission statement or anything like that. We just try to get the colors right and finish the batches on time. Some days things go wrong and we have to fix them, but that is part of the job. Premkumar S is just us trying to make a living in South Karuvampalayam. It's hard work, but we're used to it.
