Nathan Industries

Our workshop is located at No. 4/11 in Kangayampalayam, near the Kuppam Post area. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city, but that suits us just fine. There’s more space here and it’s a bit less crowded than the central markets. We do mostly industrial fabrication and assembly work. You can usually find us covered in dust or grease by midday. The building is a simple shed-style structure with high ceilings to keep it cool. We have a couple of old machines that still work better than the new ones we tried last year. Most of our day is spent at the benches, measuring and cutting. We don't have a big fancy office. There’s just a small wooden table where we keep the invoices and the phone. Sometimes the power goes out in this area, so we just take that as a sign to have a longer tea break until the grid comes back on. Our neighbors are mostly other small workshops or families who have been in Kangayampalayam for generations. It’s the kind of place where people still stop to talk to you over the fence. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a map to find anything. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out. The floors are concrete and hard on the feet, so we all wear thick boots. It’s honest work, and we don't feel the need to make it sound like more than it is.
