Meenakshi Skin Clinic

Meenakshi Skin Clinic is located over at ni 51 nrsimpurm in Karur. It’s near the light house, which is how most people find their way to us when they're lost. The address on the paper looks a bit messy, but we are right here in the neighborhood. It’s a small place, not a giant hospital, so it feels a bit more personal. We deal with all sorts of skin issues every day. Sometimes it's just a simple rash or someone worried about a mark. We don't have a big fancy lobby. There are just a few chairs and some old magazines for people to look at while they wait their turn. The sun hits the front of the clinic in the afternoon, so we usually keep the curtains drawn a bit. I’ve been working here for a while and I know most of the regulars who come by. We talk about the weather or the local news while we work. It’s a quiet kind of life compared to the big city clinics. We don't use a lot of complicated machines, just the tools we need to see what’s going on with someone’s skin. It’s a straightforward job. We open up in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person to knock. Sometimes the wind from the coast makes the door rattle a little bit, but we just put a wedge in it to keep it still.
