About Malabar Ceramics – Housewares & Supplies in Karur
Malabar Ceramics is located in Manikot, which is in the Karur District. We have been working out of this post for a long time now. The work here is mostly about clay and making things that last. It’s a dusty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We aren’t a big factory with robots; it’s mostly just us working with the materials we have. Karur is a place where people know the value of hard work. We spend our days near the kilns and the drying racks. It gets very hot, especially during the summer months, but you get used to it after a while. We make different types of ceramic items, mostly for local use. There is a certain rhythm to the work—mixing, shaping, firing, and then waiting for things to cool down. Sometimes things break in the kiln, which is frustrating, but that’s just part of the business. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you come to visit, you’ll just see us in our work gear moving pallets around. It’s a practical life. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make decent ceramics that people can use in their homes or businesses. The neighborhood is quiet, and most of our neighbors are also doing some kind of trade or farming. It’s a good, honest way to spend the day.
