Amaravathi Hospital

We’ve been here at 74 Ramanujam Nagar for a good while now. It’s a busy spot, and most people around here know where we are. Amaravathi Hospital isn't one of those massive glass buildings you see in the big cities. We keep things pretty simple. Usually, the mornings are the busiest because that's when everyone shows up at once. You’ll see the staff rushing around, checking folders and making sure the rooms are tidy. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit over the years, but our building stays mostly the same. We have some old chairs in the waiting area that have been there since I can remember. They aren't the most comfortable, but they do the job. Sometimes the tea man comes by around three, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon for us. People come in with all sorts of things, and we just try to get them sorted out as best as we can. It’s not fancy or modern. The floors get mopped twice a day, but with all the feet coming through from the street, they never stay clean long. We know most of the families living around Ramanujam Nagar by their first names. It’s just how it is here. Some days are quieter than others, especially when it rains hard. Then we all just sit and wait for someone to walk through the door. We don't have a big neon sign outside, just the one everyone knows. It’s a job, but it’s a good one because we see our neighbors every day.
