A R B Rice Mill

Out here in Village Golewal, things move at their own pace. A R B Rice Mill is right in the middle of it, near Nawanshahr in the Garhshankar area. We have been working with grain for a long time now. It’s a dusty job, and your clothes usually end up smelling like the fields by the end of the shift. We spend our days watching the machines and making sure the rice is coming out right. It’s not a quiet place. The hum of the mill is something you just get used to after a week or two. Farmers come by with their loads, and we see the same faces every season. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy lobby. We have a yard and the mill and some sheds for storage. When the harvest comes, it gets really hectic and we are working long hours just to keep up with the trucks coming in. It’s honest work, though. You see the product from start to finish. We grew up around these villages, so we know how important the rice is to everyone around here. Tehsil Garhshankar is home to us. We just focus on getting the milling done and keeping the equipment running. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to fix it ourselves with whatever tools are handy. It is just how it goes in a small mill like ours.
