People around Adoni know us as the local supermarket in NGO Colony at 5-9-653. We are just a basic shop where you can pick up your daily needs like milk, soap, or snacks. The store is usually a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone gets off work and realizes they forgot to buy something for dinner. We spend most of our day stocking the shelves and checking the expiry dates on the milk packets. It is a lot of standing around at the counter and talking to neighbors who stop by. The floor is made of old tiles that are a bit cracked in places, but it works fine for us. We have those big glass coolers that make a lot of noise, but they keep the drinks cold. Sometimes we run out of things because the supplier did not show up on time, and we have to explain that to the customers. We do not have any self-checkout lanes or anything modern like that. It is just us and a cash register. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It is a nice way to spend the day, even if it gets a bit tiring on the legs. We just try to keep the shelves full and the prices fair so people keep coming back. It is just a neighborhood shop doing its thing every day.
