This bakery and hotel setup has been part of Gandhinagar for some time now. We are located at Sri Nanjundeswra Nilaya on 4th Cross, just off St Maries Convent Road. If you know the area, it's a pretty quiet street most of the time, except when the local school lets out in the afternoon. We started out small and just kept going as the years went by. The kitchen gets really hot in the afternoons when the ovens are on, so we usually have the back door open to get a bit of a breeze. It's a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different cousins or siblings helping out behind the counter at any given time. We aren't trying to be one of those fancy places you see in the big city centers. We just make what people like and try to keep the tables clean for the next person. Sometimes the floor is a bit sticky if it's been a busy morning, but we get to it with a mop when we can. The sign outside is a little faded from the sun, but everyone in the neighborhood knows it's us. We live nearby too, so the commute is just a short walk down the road. It’s a lot of work, getting up early to start the baking and staying late to close the hotel side of things, but we are used to the routine. It’s just life here in Tumkur.
