Va Tech Wabag Ltd also has this branch in Karnal, Haryana. We are out in a place called Dera Dandarber which is near the village of Brass. Ram Singh is the person who looks after things at this location. It is a much more rural area than our other offices. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or at different sites. The office is very basic. We don't need much more than a place to sit and some files for the paperwork. We work on water projects for the local area. It means we talk to a lot of farmers and local leaders. We don't use any big words or corporate talk. We just tell them what the plan is for the water systems. The weather can be a bit of a problem sometimes when it rains too much and the roads get muddy. We just have to be patient. We have a small team here and we all know each other well. We usually eat lunch together and talk about local things. It is a different pace of life than the city. We aren't trying to be a fancy firm. We just want to make sure the engineering is solid. We have been in this part of Haryana for a while and we plan to keep working here. It’s good work and we feel like we are doing something useful.
