Our little office is situated in Village Madanpur, right at house number 202. It is a quiet spot in the Karnal area. If you live around here, you probably know where it is, near the old tree by the main path. The building is just a simple concrete house where we have set up our workspace. We know most of their families and what they are saving for, like a daughter’s wedding or a new tractor. It makes the work feel more like a community service than a job. Sometimes the ledgers get a bit messy, so we spend our Saturday afternoons cleaning up the records. We use simple calculators and a lot of pens. There is no big marketing team here, just us answering the phone and talking to whoever walks through the door. It’s a slow and steady kind of life in Madanpur.
