Spacare Optics is located right at 3 Ashoka Colony, just across from the Police Lines. It is a good spot because everyone knows where the police station is, so people don’t get lost trying to find our shop. We spend our days working on lenses and frames for folks who need them. The shop is small but we have enough room for what we need to get done. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood stopping by. Some just come in to get their glasses tightened or to ask a quick question about a broken hinge. We don’t have a big corporate team, it is just a few of us here. The shelves are filled with different styles of eyewear, and we try to keep things sorted out so we can find things quickly when someone asks. Looking out the window, you can see all the activity across the road at the station. It stays pretty lively around here even after the sun goes down. We usually have the radio playing softly while we work on the delicate parts of the optics. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on the main road, but that is just how it goes in this part of town. We take our time with the work because eyes are important and you can't rush these things. It’s a simple business, really. We open up early, clean the glass cases, and wait for the neighbors to stop in.
