We spend most of our time here at the New Grain Market on G.T. Road. Being on the first floor at number 461 gives us a bit of a view of the trucks coming in and out, but mostly it is just a lot of noise and bags of rice moving around. We have been handling rice for a while now under the name Sks Rice Overseas. It is a busy place, especially during the harvest months when everyone is rushing to get things sorted. The office isn't fancy, just a practical space where we handle the paperwork and talk to the farmers and traders. G.T. Road is always crowded, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a chore sometimes. We deal with various types of rice, checking the quality and making sure it gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the dust from the grain gets everywhere, but that is just part of being in this business. We don't really do much else besides focus on the grain. It's hard work and the days are long, but we are used to it by now. People know where to find us if they need to discuss a load or check on an order. We just keep things moving as best as we can, day after day. It is a straightforward operation without any big frills or complicated systems. Just rice and the market.
