Shyamlal Doctor

This is Shyamlal’s place in Village Kalkha. We are situated right near the Harijan Chopal, which is a landmark everyone in the village knows. If you are in Panipat and head out this way, you’ll find us easily enough. It is a quiet area mostly, except when there is a gathering at the Chopal. The clinic is just a small building where we help the local people with their health issues. We have been here in the 132105 zip code area for quite some time now. It’s not a big medical center with a lot of departments. It is just a doctor’s office where people feel comfortable coming in. We know most of our patients by name because it is a small village. Sometimes people just drop by to ask a question or get some medicine for a cold. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, maybe, but that doesn’t stop us from working. We don't have a website or anything like that, just a door that stays open during the day. Most of the families around Kalkha come to us when their kids get sick. It’s a simple life here in Panipat. We just try to be available when someone needs help. There is no receptionist usually, you just come in and wait for Shyamlal. It works for us and the neighbors. We often have tea together while waiting for the next person to arrive. It’s just how things go in Kalkha.
