Darius Couture

Our shop is located at No. 124 in Gali No. 1 over in Shanti Nagar. It’s a narrow street, so if you’re coming by car, it’s a bit of a squeeze, but that’s just how the neighborhood is. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now, working on clothes and various projects. It’s mostly just the sound of sewing machines and people talking about measurements or fabric choices throughout the day. The light in the morning is actually pretty good for seeing the threads, which helps us out quite a bit. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with bright lights or mannequins in the window. It’s more of a workspace where things actually get made by hand. The neighbors around Gali No. 1 are mostly nice people who’ve been here as long as we have, so it feels like a community. We keep the doors open most of the time to get some air in, especially when it gets hot in the afternoons. Sometimes it gets a little dusty, but that’s just part of being in Shanti Nagar. Darius Couture isn't a huge operation with hundreds of employees or anything like that. It’s just a handful of us who know our way around a needle and some cloth. We don’t spend much time on the computer or making big plans for the future. We just look at what needs to be sewn or fixed today and we get to it. It’s a simple way to spend the day.
