Nutan Industries

Nutan Industries is tucked away at 181/4 near Dhari Chowk in Panipat. Panipat is a busy city, and this area is no different. There is always a lot of movement around the chowk. We start our day when the mist is still on the ground in the winter. The building is a simple one, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have our machinery and the space where we organize everything. It is a bit cramped because we have a lot of stuff stored in the corners. We try to keep things moving so nothing sits for too long. The air is often filled with the sounds of the city and the occasional horn from a rickshaw. We have a small stove in the corner where we make tea for whoever is working that shift. Most of the people who work here have been with us for years. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes to eat. It is more like a small community than just a job. Sometimes the weather gets so hot that the machines need a break, and so do we. We sit out in the shade and wait for the temperature to drop a bit. Then we get back to it. It is just the regular cycle of life here at Dhari Chowk. We usually lock up the main shutters by seven and head our separate ways for the night.
