At North India Life Sciences, we are located at 130 Sector 3 within the HSIIDC area. It’s a purely industrial setting. You see a lot of factories and big warehouses around here. Our unit is just one of many in Sector 3. Inside, the walls are mostly plain and we have a lot of metal shelving for our materials. We deal with various products that require a lot of careful handling. The day usually starts with checking the power and making sure everything is running. There is a lot of humming from the machines in the nearby units, which you get used to after a week or two of working here. We spend hours going through the inventory and keeping records in our ledgers. It’s not a fancy office by any means. We have a couple of plastic chairs and a heavy wooden table where we do most of our writing. The floors are concrete and can get quite cold in the winter months. Working in an HSIIDC zone means everything is about logistics and getting trucks in and out. We don’t have any decorations on the walls, just some calendars and safety notices. It’s a practical space for practical work. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the tasks at hand. Sometimes we share a tea with the workers from the next unit over during the afternoon break.
