Kansal Hospital

The hospital is located in Uchani, right in the Karnal area. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but for the people living in Uchani, it’s right there. The building is a simple structure, nothing that would stand out from a distance. We have a parking area that is basically just a dirt lot, so it gets muddy when it rains. Inside, the floors are tiled and we spend a lot of time mopping them because of the dirt people bring in from outside. We have a few wards and a small emergency area. It’s not a huge place, so you can walk from one end to the other in less than a minute. The staff is mostly local, and we all know the rhythms of the town. Usually, things are slow in the early afternoon when it’s hot, and then pick up again in the evening. We keep a stock of basic medicines and supplies in a locked cabinet behind the main desk. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it’s silent for hours. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning, see who needs help, and do what we can until it’s time to lock up again. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We've been here long enough that the locals just know to come by if they have a problem.
