Babu Ram & Sons

Babu Ram & Sons has been sitting here near Kalandari Gate on Old GT Road for as long as I can remember. My father was the one who really got things moving, and now it is just us keeping the place going day to day. We don't have any of those fancy websites or a marketing team telling us what to say. It is just a shop where we sell what we have and try to help the people who walk through the door. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it does the job. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood who have been coming here for years. They know where we are and they know what we do. Sometimes the traffic on Old GT Road gets so loud we can hardly hear each other, but you get used to it after a while. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until things quiet down in the evening. There is usually a layer of dust on the shelves because of the road outside, but we try to keep things as tidy as we can. It’s a simple life and we aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just handle the orders and talk to the regulars. If you are looking for something specific, we probably have it tucked away somewhere in the back. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a family business that’s been part of the street for decades.
