Sri Venkataraman Kirana Store

Sri Venkataraman Kirana Store is located at 784/75 in Jagityala, Karimnaga. A good way to find us is to look for the Gayatri Bank because we are situated right at the back side of it. Being in a bit of an alley means it is a little quieter than the main road, which I actually prefer. The shop is a typical small-town kirana where we keep a bit of everything crammed into the wooden shelves. I usually start the day by lighting a bit of incense and organizing the vegetable crates if we have any fresh stock that morning. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside, especially with the bags of onions and potatoes sitting on the floor. Most of our customers are the people living in the houses right around the bank, so we see the same faces every day. I know who likes which brand of tea and who always forgets to bring their own carry bag. The back side of the bank isn't the most glamorous location, but it stays cool in the shade during the hot afternoons. We don't have any fancy computers for billing; everything is still written down in a notebook with a blue pen. It is a slow and steady life here in Jagityala, and we are just happy to provide the basic things that the neighborhood needs without making a big deal out of it.
