Sathwika Textiles

If you come down to the market area in Thangallapally, you’ll find Sathwika Textiles at 8-65. It’s a typical shop in a busy market. We’ve got rolls of fabric and different materials stacked up all over. It can get a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. People from the village and nearby areas come here when they need cloth for clothes or home stuff. We’ve been in this same spot for quite some time now. The market is always loud with people talking and vehicles passing by. We don't have any fancy displays, just the stock we carry. Sometimes the kids run around the shop while their mothers are looking at the fabrics. We try to keep things simple. We don't use any big words or have a mission statement. We just sell textiles. Some days are slow, especially when it's too hot for people to come out to the market. Then we just sit and wait, maybe have some tea. Other days, like before festivals, it's so crowded we can barely move. We've known our customers for years, some since they were small children. It’s a nice feeling to be part of the community here in Thangallapally. We handle the measuring and cutting ourselves. The scissors are getting a bit old but they still cut straight. We just keep going, day after day, right here at the shop at 8-65.
