S P M Rice Mills

We operate S P M Rice Mills at 67/34 in Kakatiya Nagar. It’s a local operation, and we’ve been around this neighborhood for a good while. The mill itself is a functional space, mostly filled with the sound of the engines and the smell of fresh grain. We don’t spend much on decorations because that’s not what we’re about. Our days are spent checking the moisture in the rice and making sure the bags are filled to the right weight. It’s a lot of standing and lifting. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it with grease on our hands. That’s just part of the life. We have a few regulars who come by to pick up their supplies, and we usually have a quick chat while we work. The space gets quite dusty, especially when the fans are running, so we’re always cleaning something. We’re not a big corporate company, just a small mill trying to do the job right. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down. The street outside is mostly quiet, which is a nice change from the noisier parts of the city. We just focus on the work in front of us and make sure the rice gets processed. It’s honest, simple work that keeps us going year after year.
