Mukunda Rice Mill

Mukunda Rice Mill is right here in Metpally village, just a short walk from the bus stop. We’ve been operating out of this spot in Karimnagar for quite some time now. It gets pretty loud when the machines are running, but that’s just how it is around here. People come by with their grain, and we get to work. It’s not a fancy setup. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust, and there’s always a tractor or two parked outside blocking the way. We see a lot of familiar faces from the taluka. Some days are slow, especially when the weather isn’t cooperating, but we stay open. The building is easy to find because of how close it is to where the buses pull in. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. Usually, one of us is just sitting near the entrance waiting for the next load to arrive. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the equipment doesn’t break down at the wrong time. If you live around Metpally, you’ve probably heard the huller going from down the road. We just focus on getting the job done so people can go home with their bags filled. It’s practical work. Nothing more to it than that. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait. That's just how things go in the district. We keep it simple and try to keep the belts moving.
