Karimnagar can get quite hot in the afternoons, so we always make sure the fans are running full speed as soon as we open the doors. This dental clinic has been part of the daily rhythm here for a while. We aren't located in one of those huge glass buildings you see in the bigger cities. Instead, we have a simple place where people from the surrounding streets can just walk in. The waiting room has some magazines that are probably a few months old, and the chairs are just basic plastic ones. It’s a multispeciality setup, which really just means we have the right tools for different kinds of teeth problems. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes the kids are a bit nervous when they come in, so we talk to them about their school or what they like to do. It’s not about being fancy; it’s just about getting the job done right. Most of our day is filled with the sound of the water running and the occasional beep from the machines. We see all kinds of people, from farmers coming in from the outskirts to shopkeepers from the main road. Everyone gets treated the same way. We just want to make sure people can eat their meals without pain. It’s quiet work, but it feels good to be here in Karimnagar.
