Ganga Kirana Store

Anjani Nagar is a quiet place mostly, and our store sits right at 64-82-66. We’ve been running Ganga Kirana Store for some time now. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit crowded when more than three people come in at once. I usually start the day around six in the morning to get the milk packets ready. My wife helps out in the afternoons when I need to go to the market in Vemulawada to pick up more bags of pulses or oil. We don’t have a computer for billing, we just use a notebook and a pen. It’s easier that way for us. People come by to talk more than they do to shop sometimes, but that’s fine. We know everyone’s kids and who is getting married. It’s not like those big supermarkets where nobody speaks to you. If we don’t have something you want, just tell me and I’ll try to find it next time I’m out. The floor gets a bit muddy when it rains because the road outside isn't great, but we sweep it out. It’s just a regular neighborhood shop. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Just the basics for the kitchen and the house. It keeps us busy and we like staying here in the middle of the colony.
