Dairy Farm

Our place is Hno. 2-54 in Kokkerakunta. Being in Mandal Ramadugu means we are quite a bit away from the main city of Karimnagar. This dairy farm is where we spend all our hours. There are cows to look after and the morning milking starts very early, usually around 4 am. It’s hard work and your back gets tired, but the animals need us. We grow some of the fodder ourselves in the nearby fields. Sometimes the pump acts up and we have to fix it before we can do anything else. Life here is slow and follows the needs of the cattle. We have a few sheds and a place to store the milk cans. Neighbors from around Kokkerakunta come by to get what they need. We don't have a big sign or a website. It’s just the farm. The kids sometimes help after school, mostly just carrying small buckets or watching the calves. The dust gets everywhere when it’s windy. We deal with the manure and the flies, it’s just part of the job. Every day is the same routine. We make sure the water troughs are full. Karimnagar district has many farms like ours, but this one is ours. We focus on the daily chores and making sure the animals are okay. That’s what we do at the Dairy Farm every single day without fail.
