Swastika Traders

Swastika Traders is located right in Janakalyan Bazar. To get here, you usually have to come through Kaliganj Bazar first. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from this part of the region, but it’s a lively place to be once you arrive. The market is always full of people buying and selling all sorts of things, and we are right there in the mix. Our shop is a simple building with a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We don’t have much in the way of office furniture; mostly just shelves and a sturdy table where we do our accounts. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see one of us sitting there with a cup of tea talking to a neighbor. We’ve been here long enough that we don't really need a big sign. Everyone knows where the Janakalyan area is. We handle different kinds of goods depending on what people are asking for that month. It’s not a high-tech operation by any means. We use old ledgers and keep track of things the way we’ve always done. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles or torches to see what we are doing, but we don't let that stop us. It’s just how things are in this part of the country. We enjoy being around the other traders and seeing the same faces every day.
