We are Utility Powertech Limited, set up right here in Ramagundam. Most people know this is a big hub for power because of the joint venture between Reliance and NTPC. We are situated in the Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, or Telangana as it’s known now. The pin code is 505215. It’s hot out here, especially with the big plants running all the time, but you get used to it. Our daily life is mostly focused on the maintenance and technical side of things. We don’t have a flashy storefront. It’s more of a place where the workers meet up before heading out to the different sectors of the power station. There’s a lot of specialized equipment around, and we spend our time making sure it’s all working like it should. We’ve got a good group of guys who have been doing this for years. They don’t need much instruction anymore. We just check the boards in the morning and get to work. Sometimes we have to deal with the bureaucracy that comes with being a JV, but we try to keep that to a minimum. Most of the time, we’re just trying to solve practical problems on the ground. Ramagundam isn't a tourist town, it’s a working town, and we fit right in with that. We finish our shifts, maybe grab a tea near the gate, and that’s a wrap for the day.
