Mulukanoor Women'S Cooperative Dairy

Our dairy is right in the heart of Mulukanoor village in the Bheemadevarapalli Mandal. It’s a place where the women really run the show. Every morning, you’ll see the members coming in with their milk cans, sometimes on foot and sometimes on bicycles. It’s a community effort more than anything else. We started this because we wanted a way to handle our own milk and make a living for our families. The building isn’t much to look at, just a sturdy place to keep the cooling tanks and the processing equipment. We don’t have a marketing team or a fancy office. Most of the decisions are made while we are standing around the milk collection point. We talk about our kids, the village news, and how the cows are doing. It’s a very honest way to work. The money we make goes back to the women in the village, which helps everyone out. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep things cool, but we’ve gotten good at handling emergencies. We take pride in the fact that it’s our own neighbors who are drinking the milk we process. There’s no corporate ladder to climb here. We are all just working together to make sure the dairy keeps running and the village stays strong. It’s hard work, especially in the heat, but it’s our work. We wouldn't want it any other way. It is a simple life for us here.
