Bhagwati Inter College

Down here on Jyoti Road in Mainpuri, you’ll find Bhagwati Inter College. It’s sitting right in Gilleri Khajim Nagar, and it’s been part of this neighborhood for a good while now. Every morning, the street gets busy with students making their way to the gate. It’s a bit of a walk for some of them who come from further out in Jyot. The building is solid, though it shows its age in places where the paint has started to thin out. We spend our mornings doing the assembly and then it’s straight into the classrooms. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we’re always checking the overhead fans. The staff here is mostly local people who grew up around Mainpuri themselves. We talk to the parents when they drop by, usually about small things like missing notebooks or the upcoming exams. The playground isn't massive, but the kids make it work for their cricket games during the recess. We have a lot of benches that have seen better days, but they serve their purpose. Life at the college is mostly about keeping things moving and making sure the students stay on track with their books. When the final bell rings at the end of the day, there’s a big rush for the exit, and then the place goes quiet until the next morning. It is a simple, busy life we have here on Jyoti Road.
