ALSHAJAR CONSTRUCTION PRIVATE LIMITED

Alshajar Construction Private Limited is based out of Prantee, which is a small spot in the Panikhar area of Taisuru, Kargil. We operate out of Mohd Shah’s place. It’s a beautiful part of the world, but it’s a tough place to run a construction business. The landscape is rugged and the roads can be a real challenge, especially when we’re trying to move heavy equipment around. We started this because we wanted to provide work for people in our own village and the surrounding block. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just us, a few local guys who know how to handle stone and mortar. We spend most of our time out on the sites, often in places where cell service is spotty at best. When we aren't working, we’re back in Panikhar trying to get the billing and the permits sorted out. It’s a lot of manual labor, and the weather really dictates when we can and can’t work. Sometimes the snow stays so late into the spring that we lose months of time. But that’s just life in Kargil. We’ve learned to be patient and to make the most of the months when the ground isn't frozen solid. We aren't looking to become some massive firm. We just want to do good work for the people in our valley and make sure our families are taken care of. It’s simple work for local people, done by people who actually live here.
