Trinity International Residential School

Up on the first floor at No. 5 Subramaniapuram 3rd Street North, things stay pretty busy throughout the year. Being a residential school in Karaikudi, we have students living here most of the time, so the building never really feels empty. It’s a bit of a walk from the main parts of town, but that makes it a little quieter for the kids when they are trying to study in the evenings. The rooms are basic, with beds and cupboards for their things, and we try to keep the common areas as clean as possible. It is a bit of a challenge sometimes when you have so many young people staying under one roof, but we have a rhythm for how we do things. Morning starts early with everyone getting ready for classes, and then the building gets noisy with the sound of shuffling feet and teachers talking. In the kitchen, we prepare the daily meals, mostly simple stuff that keeps everyone fed. Karaikudi can get really dry and hot, so we are always checking the water tanks and making sure the coolers are working right. The street outside isn't too busy, which is good for the students when they need to focus. We aren't a big corporate institution, just a local place where kids come to stay and learn their subjects. Most of us who work here live nearby and have been part of the school for a long time.
