Kalinga Crafts

We are located at No 1/6 in Thirumalayan Nagar, right on the Illupakudi Main Road. Kalinga Crafts is a place where we spend a lot of time working with our hands. It’s situated near the Allgapapuram Post, so it’s easy enough for people to find us if they are in the area. The workshop is usually a bit of a mess with scraps of material and different projects lying around. We aren't the type to have a fancy office with air conditioning. Instead, we have big fans that move the air around while we work. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the city center, but the main road still sees a lot of buses and bikes going past. We focus on making various craft items, and it takes a lot of patience. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out right and we have to start over, which can be frustrating, but that’s just how it goes. We don't have a big corporate structure. Most of the time it’s just us and the tools, trying to make something that looks decent. The locals sometimes stop by to see what we are working on. We’ve been here at this Allgapapuram Post address for a good while, and we’ve become part of the scenery. It’s not a fast-paced life, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the work moving forward every day without any grand plans.
