Priya Nursery Garden

Our garden is located at the Akm Building, right behind the New Cinema. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, but once you find it, it’s a lot greener than the rest of the street. Priya Nursery Garden is where we spend our days tending to plants and helping people pick out something for their homes. We have rows of pots and bags of soil stacked up near the entrance. It’s usually a bit humid because we have to keep everything watered, especially when the sun is out. The ground is often a little muddy, so we all wear boots to keep our feet dry. We don't have a big office; it’s just a small desk in a shed where we keep the records. Most of our time is spent outside with the plants, checking for pests or moving things into the shade. There’s always the sound of birds and the occasional noise from the cinema nearby when a movie is playing. It’s a peaceful way to work, even if it’s physically demanding sometimes. We don't have a fancy catalog; we just show people what’s in bloom and what’s growing well that week. It’s a simple life, focused on growing things and making sure they survive. People from the neighborhood stop by often just to look around. We like having them, and it makes the work feel worth it.
