Magna Outdoor Catering

Magna Outdoor Catering operates out of No. 53/1 on Jeevaanam Street. It’s a place that usually smells like spices and whatever we are cooking for the day. Our kitchen isn't huge, but we make it work for large groups. We spend most of our time doing prep work, chopping vegetables, and cleaning large pots. It’s a lot of physical labor that most people don't see. We started this because we liked cooking for our own family gatherings and it just grew from there. Now we go all over the place with our stoves and supplies. Jeevaanam Street is where we load up the vans early in the morning. Sometimes we are leaving when it’s still dark outside. We don't have a team of waiters in fancy uniforms; we just have hard-working people who know how to serve food while it's hot. We’ve done all sorts of events, from small house parties to bigger outdoor functions. We don't have a polished website or anything like that. People find us because they ate our food somewhere else and asked for our number. We keep things simple. We buy our ingredients from the local markets and try to make sure nothing goes to waste. It’s busy, sweaty work, especially in the summer heat, but we’re used to it. We just focus on making sure the food tastes right and everyone gets fed.
