Fast Exporters

Our place is at No. 200 Kamarajar Salai. It’s a long road, and we’re right in the thick of it. The name "Fast Exporters" was something we picked years ago, and we try to live up to it, though sometimes the local transport has other ideas. Our office is just a simple storefront that we’ve converted. It’s not very big, but it’s enough for the few of us to manage the accounts and the shipping schedules. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name painted on the door. It gets quite loud with the buses and cars going by all day, but you get used to the noise after a while. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the ports. It’s a lot of "where is the truck?" and "has the vessel cleared?" which can be frustrating but that's just the business. We don't have any corporate mission statements or anything like that stuck on the walls. We just have a calendar and a lot of sticky notes. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh about how many forms we have to fill out for just one small box to go overseas. It’s a lot of routine work, but it’s what we know how to do. We usually close up around six and head home, unless there's a big shipment that needs to be cleared. It’s just a regular job in a busy part of town.
