Yash Photography

We have our little studio set up at Azad Chowk in Shaniwar Peth, Karad. Yash Photography isn't about being a big fancy studio with dozens of lights. Most of the time, it’s just about capturing people as they are. We do a lot of passport photos for people who are in a hurry, but we also do some events when people ask us. We spend a lot of time behind the camera and even more time sitting at the computer looking at the shots. It’s a lot of clicking and checking if the lighting was right. The shop is right in a busy part of Karad, so there is always noise coming from the street. We’ve seen a lot of families come in over the years. Kids grow up and then they come back for their own photos. It’s nice to be part of the community like that. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just try to take a decent picture that people will want to keep. Sometimes the equipment acts up or the lighting isn't cooperating, but we figure it out. It’s a small space, filled with frames and old samples of work we’ve done. We keep it simple and just focus on the task at hand. It’s a good way to spend the day, meeting different people from all over town and seeing the different stories they have to tell through the camera lens.
