Prem Electricals And Electronics is at Shop No.4 in the Madhu Chambers building. We are in Shaniwar Peth, right on the Bus Stand Road. It’s a very central part of Satara, so it’s always lively. The Head Post Office is just across the street from our shop. We hear the buses coming into the stand all day long, which can be a bit loud. Our shop is quite narrow and packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things. We have a small counter at the front where we spend most of our time. The building is an older one and the stairs are a bit steep. We’ve been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Many of the other shopkeepers in Madhu Chambers are our friends. We often share a cup of tea in the afternoons. It’s a very practical place with no frills. We don't have any fancy decorations or air conditioning. We just use the ceiling fans to stay cool. The post office workers often drop by to say hello or buy something small. We keep our own records in a big ledger book on the counter. It’s a lot of manual work but we are used to it. We stay open late most days to catch the evening crowd. It is a busy shop.
