I've been doing architecture work here in Phagwara for a while now. My office is basically just my house at number 52 in Block E of Green Park, specifically over on Lane 2 by Plahi Road. It’s a quiet spot most of the time. People usually come by when they have a plot of land but don't really know where to start with the drawings or the paperwork. I sit down with them at my table and we figure out where the rooms should go and how to make the most of the space. It's a lot of back and forth, as you can imagine. Sometimes the weather gets really hot so we just have some cold water or tea and talk about the walls or where the windows should be. I don't have a big team or fancy staff, it is just me working on the drawings. Most of my day is spent looking at blueprints or driving out to check on how a wall is coming up at a site nearby. People in the neighborhood know where to find me if they need a plan submitted to the local office or just want to ask about what kind of bricks are best. It’s been this way for a long time. I don't like making things complicated with big words. If someone needs a house designed, they just walk in. Phagwara is changing fast, and I try to keep up with the new styles while making sure the buildings are actually solid.
