Our place, Roxy Rubbers, is situated on Aujla Road. We are right near the railway crossing, so you can hear the trains passing by all day long. It's a sound we’ve gotten used to over the years. The shop is a bit rugged, with rubber scraps here and there. We make gaskets, seals, and other small items. It's messy work, and our hands are usually stained black by noon. My father started this business back when there were fewer houses around here. Now it's gotten quite built up. We have a couple of old machines that still work better than the new ones we bought last year. We don't bother with fancy uniforms or big titles. Everyone just pitches in where they are needed. If the floor needs sweeping, the person closest to the broom does it. We get a lot of locals coming in for quick repairs or small orders. Sometimes we have to tell people we can't do a certain job if we don't have the right mold. It’s better to be upfront than to do a bad job. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. It’s just a normal workshop trying to keep things moving. We don't have a big sign outside, but people know the gate with the old blue paint.
