Palhan Engg. Industries is based in the Industrial Area on Nakodar Road. It is a typical spot for an engineering shop, surrounded by other businesses doing similar hard work. Our building is a simple structure that has been our base for a long time. Inside, you will find all the usual things like lathes, welding sets, and big workbenches that have seen a lot of use. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is a lingering smell of grease and burnt metal, which is pretty standard for us. We spend our days working on various engineering projects, often following sketches we have drawn up ourselves or from what people tell us they need. We are not a large operation, so it is just a handful of us doing the actual work. We don't have a fancy office or any marketing people; we just handle everything ourselves. The Nakodar Road area is always full of trucks and the sounds of industry, so it feels right for the kind of work we do. We usually start early in the morning when it is a bit cooler and work through until the sun goes down. Lunch is often just a quick meal taken near the workbench so we can get back to what we were doing. It is not a glamorous life, but it is steady and keeps us busy. We just focus on the steel and the machines and try to do a decent job every time.
