Our place is out in Village Dhawankha Jagir, right off the Jalandhar Road. It’s a bit of a trip to get here from the main city, but we like the space. Being near the village means things are a little slower than in the middle of a big town. We have a post box, No. 72, because sometimes the mail is hard to deliver right to the door. The factory floor is where most of us spend our time. It’s a large space with high ceilings that stay cool in the morning but get quite hot by three o'clock. We make things that are meant to last, so there is a lot of heavy material around. You have to watch where you step. The sound of machinery is the background noise of our lives. We have workers from the nearby villages who have been with us for years. We know their kids' names and how their farms are doing. It’s not a cold corporate environment. We sit on plastic chairs during our breaks and talk about the weather or the price of diesel. The road outside is busy with tractors and buses going towards Jalandhar. Sometimes we have to wait a while just to pull out of the gate. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just make our products and hope they do the job.
