V - vas Fabric

You’ll find us at SCO-21 inside the Jama Masjid Complex. It’s a very old and busy part of the city, and being right by the masjid means there is a constant flow of people. The atmosphere is thick with history and the smell of street food from the nearby vendors. Our shop is packed tight with fabric from floor to ceiling. We’ve got stacks of cotton, silk, and synthetic blends all shoved together. It’s hard to move around sometimes because we have so much inventory in such a small space. We spend the day pulling down rolls for people to look at and then rolling them back up when they are done. It’s physically demanding work, and our arms are usually tired by the end of the day. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that creak as they turn. When the call to prayer starts, the whole area changes for a few minutes, which is a nice break in the day. We’ve been here for years and know most of the other shopkeepers in the complex. We share news and complain about the heat or the crowds together. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures; people just know we are here at SCO-21 if they need fabric. It’s a simple business, built on being in the same spot every day and knowing our stock inside and out.
