It’s more of a home-style setup than a cold office building. We like it that way because it feels more personal. The street is usually quiet, except for the occasional delivery bike or neighbors chatting outside. Inside, it’s a mix of home life and work life. There’s always a pot of tea going somewhere. We don’t have a big sign with flashing lights. You just look for the gate and walk in. Working as an architect in a place like this means you know your neighbors and the people down the road. We spend a lot of time looking at site plans and talking about materials that actually last. It’s not about being fancy. It’s about making sure the walls are straight and the roof doesn’t leak. Sometimes we sit out in the small yard to clear our heads when a design gets complicated. Mandeep is usually around, probably busy with a ruler or a laptop. We don’t use a lot of big words to explain things. We just show you what we’re thinking and see if it makes sense.
